Satemwa Tea Estate

Satemwa Tea Estate is located in Thyolo district in the shire Highlands of southern Malawi. It is one of the oldest tea estates in Malawi. It was founded in 1923 by Maclean Kay Family, a Scottish emigrant and it has been handed down from generation to generation of the Cathcart Kay family. The estate provides the best views of Mulanje Mountain and the Lower Shire valley.

The vegetation on the estates provides an ideal habitat for different varieties of bird species.
